Victory Forge Military Academy is the same as Southeastern Military Academy

In December 2009, Weierman decided to change the name for Victory Forge to Southeastern Military Academy. Nothing about the school has changed, except the name. Even their website is the same (save for a new URL).

Another Option for Troubled Teens

We continue with providing parents with alternatives to the hellish place known as Victory Forge. We received another letter from a former student who was there in 2002 - he repeats the same allegations that all others have about this place. We cannot caution parents enough about VF.

From official statements: Teen Challenge is one of the oldest, largest and most successful programs of its kind in the world. Established in 1958 by David Wilkerson, Teen Challenge has grown to more than 170 centers in the United States. Teen Challenge is structured to allow flexibility in meeting the needs of those whose lives have been shattered by addictions. Where residential care is needed, Teen Challenge offers a well-developed, multi-phased discipleship training program. Teen Challenge also provides extensive non-residential assistance through personal and group sessions. Prevention programs are provided to thousands each year through public school assemblies and church meetings.

It is our guess that the Weierman's have tried to copy the religious aspects of Teen Challenge to offer legitimacy to their prison for teens. Teen Challenge, according to our research and interviews is more cost effective and promotes confidence in teens rather than destroying them. Moreover, there are Teen Challenges' in just about every state, and there may be one right by you. Click here for locations.

Teen challenge has a very different approach than a bootcamp. The approach, however, is not abusive rather it builds up students in the Lords name. They do not have people who are on power trips or others who would not account for much in their lives running a program. It is different, but certainly much better than Victory Fraud.

Thank you for letting your readers know about our program. Some things to keep in mind.

Teen Challenges around the United States provide care for adult male, adult female, adolescent male, and adolescent females demonstrating a need for intensive help with life-controlling problems.

When contacting a Teen Challenge Center for assistance, it is important that the individual who is seeking help contact the intake person. There is an application, as well as other necessary paperwork, and an interview. A health screening is also required. In the event it is determined that the contacted program is not in the best interest of an applicant, a referral will be provided to another program or programs that offer the most effective and appropriate services to the applicant.

Call today for more information 417-862-6969.

We did call the the Florida DCF and asked to speak with Vern Melvin. As a matter of policy, DCF does not comment on any investigations. The DCF representative did say that she was not aware of any investigations regarding Teen Challenge in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee counties. The poster above is therefore lying. If you are stating facts, please provide us with details that can be verified. Unverified facts will not be published, and yes there is a difference between facts and opinions.

We also talked to Courtney Peel (Circuit 14 Operations Administrator for the DCF) and we received the same message.
DCF does not comment on investigations. The news media picks up stories and there is no news on this, so please disregard the posters comments (March 19)
